As of last Wednesday, we are officially homeowners again. The joys of home ownership are now upon us once again. We are thrilled to be living near where we worship and serve. We are excited to have our neighbors over, hold Bible studies and fellowships, and raise our son there. The next week or so some renovations are taking place before we move in the last week in February. Pray for us as we make it through this very busy time. We are so excited about all the new, and we will be excited to get settled in our new home. We are very grateful for all that God has and is doing with us.
2019 has started off with a bang! I was affirmed by the congregation of Parkway Baptist Church on January 20th, and have now been serving as Minister of Administration and Education since January 28th. I have been busy setting up my office, meeting with various groups of the church, getting to know the staff, and learning all there is to learn. I believe God wants to continue to use this great church for His glory, reaching the next generation with the Gospel. I am pumped to help lead in that.
In addition to all there is learn with a new position, we will close on a house we are purchasing tomorrow (Wednesday, the 5th). We are thrilled to get to live in the Creve Coeur area for the sake of the Gospel. We can't wait to get to know our neighbors on our street, have them for bbq's, and serve our community. We will be moved into our new home by late February.
Oh, and our little boy just turned four months old. Nothing too busy with that, right? :)
Needless to say, we are busy! But the Lord is moving, and our hearts are full.
We so often forget in the moment just exactly how God has moved in our lives. God has done great, miraculous and praise worthy things in our lives that last year we cannot comprehend. We don't deserve it. We haven't earned it. I don't have these things "coming" to me. But nevertheless, God has blessed us more than we deserve. That is the God we serve. I'm blessed even when I don't deserve it.
The reality is though, that even if God had not provided many wonderful things for us this past year, God has blessed us with Himself-and that is more than enough. The fact that we have a creator who wants to know us is miraculous in itself.
So in this busy month, I give the Lord praise. It is his movement in our lives that we find ourselves where we are, for His glory.
Today marks my first day on staff at Parkway Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri. I am serving as the Minister of Administration and Education. Leslie and I could not be more thrilled to join this great church in our metro area. I am thrilled to use my gifts to assist this community of believers continue to fulfill its mandate of Loving God, Nurturing People, and Sharing Christ Globally. We believe that God continues to desire to use this great church, for His glory, in Creve Coeur, St Louis, and to the ends of the earth!
